Biography

Growing up in Stretford, Greater Manchester, Lusaint never thought a career in music was possible. Fast forward to 2025 and Lusaint has dispelled her own theory by clocking over 250 million streams to date and proving herself as one of the UK’s hottest newcomers.

Even through a degree in Fashion and part-time jobs, the call of music kept beckoning her. “I knew that there was something about my voice, or at least the fact that I wanted to do music from an early age,” she says.  As a teenager, she would dig through her parents’ extensive music collection. Amongst the pile of Motown, it was the jazz and blues sounds of Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone that pulled her in.

Lusaint became inspired by a friend who was gigging around town and decided to start making her own demos featuring cover tracks like ‘Feeling Good’ and ‘I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free’ by Nina Simone. Age 17 and still struggling with confidence, Lusaint went from bars and restaurants, landing two to three gigs every week along with releasing covers online to build up her experience, skills and stage presence.

Fast forward to 2019, everything changed. The singer's cover of En Vogue’s ‘Don’t Let Go’, landing a coveted slot on prime-time UK TV, going on to become the most Shazamed song in a single day in UK history. It opened the floodgates for Lusaint’s career, and with a subsequent cover of Chris Isaak’s ‘Wicked Game’ currently sitting north of 41 million views on YouTube alone, she has an astonishing growing fan base.

By 2021, having generated over 50 million streams from releasing covers, Lusaint signed with UK management and independent record label Heavenly Fire. Working hard on her vocals, Lusaint wanted to do more than just sing and took her first stab at songwriting in 2022. Writing from past relationship experiences, her own mental health to even her addiction to sugar! Then came producer Blue May whose credits include the likes of Lily Allen, George Fitzgerald, Joy Crookes and Kano. Blue helped shape Lusaint’s songs and sound, giving her a fresh modern soul and pop feel which complimented her songs and voice perfectly. Combining Lusaint and Blue with Grammy nominated mixing and mastering engineer Kevin Grainger, creating the perfect addition to a perfect A team.

Throughout all this blossoming success and collaboration, the ideal endpoint for Lusaint was to break out as a solo artist writing originals. She did so beautifully with debut single ‘Dark Horse’, released In February 2023 with legendary writer and producer Eg White, who’s credits are a who’s who of A list stars including Adele, P!nk, Florence and the Machine, Paloma Faith to name a few. Bringing her love of jazz classics together with a modern and fresh edge. With support immediately drawing in from her local BBC Introducing in Manchester followed by BBC Radio 1 support from Victoria Jane on Future Soul. The track was also included in New Music Friday and New Pop UK on Spotify along with TikTok in their ‘New Music’ playlist and featured in editorial,"Polished and meticulously crafted, but also brimming with emotional resonance and raw honesty” - quoted Wonderland Magazine.

Next came ‘Fool For You’ in April 2023. A blend of soul & pop with luxurious melodies and catchy lyrics delivered by Lusaint’s incredible vocal tones. ‘Fool For You’ was instantly crowned a ‘Producer’s Pick’ by BBC Introducing Manchester followed by multiple plays on BBC Radio 1 including Vicki Hawkesworth. The track quickly reached 1 million streams globally and was added to multiple editorial playlists across all major streaming platforms on launch.

overnight sensation.”

Lusaint’s debut EP ‘Self Sabotage’ released on September 13th 2024 and included its last anthemic and final track titled ‘Remember Me’ which has seen support from all major DSPs, recalling the vocal power of Amy Winehouse and timelessness of Fitzgerald and Simone whilst also feeling like a James Bond theme. ‘Self Sabotage’ has now been streamed over 15 million times globally.

2024 ended on a high for Lusaint, performing in Vatican City, Italy for Canal 5’s Christmas TV Special including an Audience With the Late Pope Francis.

Lusaint explains what drives her passion: “If I'm in the studio, or if I'm on stage, I get this real zen feeling of pure calm, and like that’s where I'm supposed to be in that moment. It feels like I’m in my happy place. Without being able to experience that feeling, I think I'd probably be going through quite a lot of bother. In my everyday life, my brain is quite chaotic, but as soon as I get into that other space, it feels very relaxed and calm.”

Next comes Lusaint’s second EP, the Apothecary (pt.1), released in August 2025. Blending jazz, neo-soul, pop and more, the music feels born from smoky jazz clubs and Lusaint describes the 4 track EP as a collection of songs about "heartbreak, healing, and starting over," a natural progression from her previous work, Self Sabotage

Leading the EP is the glorious single ‘Summertime’, a blissful slice of bright pop-soul that feels instantly timeless. It was written during a four-week stint writing aboard a house boat in London’s Maida Vale. “This boat was so hot,” she remembers with a smile. “It was 35 degree heat and I've never been so uncomfortable in all my life, but I decided that I wasn't going to leave this boat until I got the songs that I wanted, because I was feeling so inspired.” Lusaint's dedication to songwriting paid off as the EP saw support from BBC Radio 1's Victoria Jane, Jess Iszatt on Radio 1 Introducing and Radio 1's Future Pop and has generated over 2 million streams globally thus far. There has been continued support for Lusaint's other single 'Lie To Yourself' which saw support from Rolling Stone UK and MTV UK  with great editorial coverage including the cover of Retro Pop on Spotify and the cover of Jazz Club.
